WAW! Brunei Darussalam 2016

The Embassy of Japan held WAW! (World Assembly for Women) Brunei Darussalam on Monday, 5 December 2016 at CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre in cooperation with the High Commission of Canada, and in the presence of a distinguished guest of honour, Datin Paduka Dr. Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
 
This event was an official side event of “WAW! Tokyo 2016,” scheduled in Japan on 13 and 14 December. Building upon the theme of the event, “Entrepreneurs – Women – Technology: Crossing the Glass Border,” the four keynote speakers talked about how best to encourage and support women to enter or return to employment, and to become entrepreneurs in the private sector, especially in the ICT sector. The speakers were as follows:

Around 150 attendees eagerly listened to the speeches and joined a lively Q&A session.
