Heatstroke - Tips on how to avoid it

Extreme high temperature forecasts may be issued at any time between July to September. Travelers visiting Japan soon or later in the year, please be prepared for potential heatwaves so as not to spoil your enjoyment of your time in Japan.

Tips for preventing heat illness:
  • Wear light or cool clothes.
  • Stay in the shade and out of the direct sun.
  • Use a parasol and/or wear a hat.
  • Drink plenty of water that includes sodium.
