Emperor’s Birthday Reception 2016

2017/2/1
The Embassy of Japan held the Emperor’s Birthday Reception 2016 on 29 November 2016 at the Empire Hotel. This year, we invited Pehin Orang Kaya Haji Awang Abu Bakar, Minister of Home Affairs as our distinguished guest of honor together with his Datin, as well as many guests from the Brunei Government business sector and wider community. At the reception, Japanese enterprises exhibited their activities and products, and we displayed photos of the events which we hosted in 2016, such as a Brunei-Japan badminton exchange with members of the Nippon Badminton association last October, and a Japanese language promotion event.
This year, Kyushu-Brunei Darussalam Club members came to the reception, and demonstrated Obi tying on beautiful Kimonos, and displayed some traditional products, including Sagemon. These demonstrations and some Japanese culinary dishes prepared by Mr Usuki, the Ambassador’s resident chef, were enjoyed by many guests.
