On 8 October 2026, His Excellency Mr KIKUTA Yutaka, Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam paid a courtesy call on Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin.
During the courtesy call, Ambassador extended his congratulations to the Minister on his appointment as Coordinating Minister, as well as on the expansion of his portfolio following the government's restructuring. They discussed economic, trade and industrial matters in Brunei, as well as cooperation between Japan and Brunei in these areas.
