Visit to Brunei by “Nihongo Partners”

2026/9/8
Under the Nihongo Partners (Short-term Dispatch) Programme of the Japan Foundation, seven Japanese Partners visited Brunei for about one week from 31 August, and introduced Japanese language and culture at local secondary schools, UTB and  one private educational centre. The Bruneian students warmly welcomed the group with introduction of their traditional food, music and costumes. The Embassy expresses sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Education and the hosting institutions for their hospitality towards Nihongo Partners from Japan.
On 4 September, the group of Partners, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Kikuta prior to returning to Japan, and shared their valuable experiences gained through cultural exchange activities at each school. They also visited the Embassy for a reporting session of the programme and had fruitful discussion on further promotion of cultural exchanges and Japanese language education in Brunei.
