2026/7/30
On 28 July, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the field of health was formally exchanged between the Faculty of Medicine at Kagawa University, Japan, and the Ministry of Health of Brunei Darussalam (MOH). The ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency Mr KIKUTA Yutaka, Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam, Dr Hajah Rafidah binti Haji Gharif, Acting Permanent Secretary at the MOH along with ministry officials and representatives from Kagawa University. The delegation from Kagawa University was visiting Brunei to participate in the International Summer Medical School, a joint exchange programme conducted in collaboration with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).

Building on the foundation of the original MOU signed between Kagawa University and MOH in 2009, this latest memorandum aims to further strengthen cooperation and collaboration between the parties in key areas, including healthcare, medical education, research and professional exchange. Based on this MOU, mutually beneficial programmes will be jointly planned and implemented, including the expansion of education and training opportunities. It is anticipated that these deepened exchanges will contribute to further strengthening the broader bilateral relationship between Japan and Brunei Darussalam.
