2026/2/27
On 24 February, H.E. Mr. KIKUTA Yutaka, Ambassador of Japan, received a courtesy call from students of Waseda Business School (WBS). One of the students is a Bruneian recipient of the MEXT Scholarship who is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at WBS and organised this study visit to Brunei with his colleagues of the seminar led by Professor SATO Katsuhiro.
The purpose of the visit was to study Brunei’s economic diversification efforts and investment ecosystem, while also experiencing the local culture and the traditions of Ramadhan firsthand.
During the courtesy call, the students shared their observations and insights gained from their visit, particularly regarding Brunei’s evolving economic landscape and the country’s ongoing efforts to build upon its traditional oil and gas sector and diversify its economy. Ambassador KIKUTA encouraged the students to continue deepening their understanding of Brunei’s economy, both its potentials and its business environment, and to further their research by exploring ways to find opportunities for business collaboration with Japan.
