A courtesy visit from "JENESYS 2025 Japan-Brunei Martial Arts Exchange" participants

2026/2/2
Six university students from Japan, experienced in Judo, Karate, and Kendo respectively, are visiting Brunei as part of the "JENESYS 2025 Japan-Brunei Martial Arts Exchange" programme, scheduled from 28 January to 4 February.

During their one-week stay in Brunei, the students pay a courtesy call to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, visit local schools to introduce martial arts, and engage in practice sessions with Brunei martial arts federations and clubs. They also experience Bruneian hospitality through homestays.

On 29 January, the students paid a courtesy call to Ambassador Kikuta, sharing their excitement about the upcoming week to deepen their understanding of Brunei while also using the opportunity to learn more about Japan through the introduction of Japanese culture and martial arts. On the same day, they had an exchange session with the Bruneian JENESYS 2025 participants, where the alumni shared their experiences in Japan from the programme.
