Opening Ceremony of the Art Exhibition -- “I Love Sushi”

On 10 September, the opening ceremony of the Japan Foundation’s traveling art exhibition “I Love Sushi” was held, with the presence of Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr Mohammad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Corporate), Ministry of Education as the Guest of Honour.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador KIKUTA Yutaka spoke about the history of sushi and explained that there is no one word that can describe sushi, as it varies greatly across different regions of Japan and around the world, and it has undergone a long evolution over the years.
Co-organised by the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Foundation, and Malay Technology Museum, the exhibition is open to the public from 10 September to 5 October at Malay Technology Museum in Kota Batu.
The exhibition aims to introduce the history and appeal of sushi, a popular Japanese food around the world including in Brunei, and to deepen mutual understanding and promote cultural exchange between Japan and Brunei.
