Two principals and two secondary school teachers from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan and Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam participated in the “ASEAN-Japan Exchange Program for Secondary School Teachers” organised by the Japan Foundation. The eight-day programme took place in Japan, where two principals visited middle and high schools in Oita Prefecture, while the two teachers visited middle and high schools in Tokushima Prefecture. During the exchange, they deepened their understanding of Japanese culture and education, engaged with local educators and students through discussions, and observed Japan’s efforts to address social issues through educational practices.

On 27 November, the participants paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador Maeda, where they shared what they had learned through the programme and expressed their eagerness to apply the insights they had gained to enrich the educational practices at their schools, and to introduce Japanese culture to their students.
