A courtesy visit from JENESYS Brunei-Japan Agriculture Exchange Programme participants

On 13 November, A courtesy call was made on Ambassador Maeda from 4 youths in the field of agriculture who will be visiting Japan to participate in the “Brunei-Japan Agriculture Exchange Programme” from 19 to 25 November.
As part of the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Programme, this initiative aims to foster mutual trust and understanding among the peoples of Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.
Together with participants from Vietnam, the Bruneian participants will attend lectures and have observation visits to the agriculture industry in the Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Mie prefectures. They will also get to experience a homestay at farmers’ houses during their stay at Taiki-Cho village in Mie.
During the courtesy visit, the participants expressed their enthusiasm for learning Japanese agricultural technology through the programme. Ambassaor Maeda encouraged them to apply the knowledge and experience they gain from the programme to further the development of agriculture in Brunei, and strengthening the ties between the two nations.
