Departure ceremony of JENESYS ASEAN-Japan Sports x SDGs Exchange for Youth participants

On 27 October, 9 students from Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Secondary School, Lumut, Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College, and Berakas Secondary School and a chaperone left for Japan to participate in the ASEAN-Japan Sports x SDGs Exchange for Youth.

As part of Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Programme, this initiative aims to foster mutual trust and understanding among the peoples of Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. Together with participants from other ASEAN countries, the Bruneian students will attend lectures on SDGs by ”J-League” (the Japan Professional Football League), participate in a football clinic, and visit Fukushima Prefecture to engage in exchanges with local schools.

Deputy Chief of Mission/Counsellor Ms MIURA Keiko sent off the delegation at the Brunei International Airport together with Pengiran Ali Shafie bin Pengiran Haji Abas, Acting Deputy Director and Head of Student Affairs of the Department of Schools at the Ministry of Education.
