On 16th of October, five students of Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School and their chaperone, Ms. Kho Pei Jing made a courtesy call on Ambassador Maeda in his office. They will be travelling to Japan to participate in the High School Students’ Summit on “World Tsunami Awareness Day” 2024 held in Kumamoto, Japan from 23rd to 24th of October.

The school was selected to participate in the summit by Brunei’s Ministry of Education for their active commitment in organizing activities and participating in disaster-related issues and climate change awareness.

During the one-week program, the students will go on tours in Tokyo and Kumamoto, together with students from 43 other countries and regions. Ambassador Maeda encouraged them to make the most of this visit to deepen their understanding on disaster prevention, to enjoy history and nature of Kumamoto, and to nurture friendship with other participants.
