The Government of Japan has donated a set of facial recognition equipment and software through the United Nations’ Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), which will be used by the Government of Brunei Darussalam to enhance security and safety of the country.

A handover ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s Office on 14 March. Ambassador MAEDA and Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu, Permanent Secretary (Security, Enforcement and Law) at the Prime Minister’s Office, attended the ceremony.

We hope that Japanese technology, NeoFace Watch Facial Recognition System by NEC Corporation, will contribute to security and safety in this region.
