Applications for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for 2026

📣The Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam is now accepting applications for the Japanese Government  Scholarship for 2026 offered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Technology (MEXT) of Japan.
 
The Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship aims to foster human resources and, through study in Japan, encouraging students to be the bridges of friendship between Brunei and Japan, contributing to the development of both countries and the wider world.
 
There are four types of scholarships offered under the programme:
(1) Research Students
(2) Undergraduate Students
(3) College of Technology Students
(4) Specialised Training College Students.
 
This is a valuable opportunity for Bruneians keen to study in Japan to broaden their horizons and increase their future job prospects. In the previous year, three Bruneians were awarded the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship under the Research Students category.

Interested students are required to submit their application documents to the Embassy of Japan no later than Friday, 6 June 2025. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
