Five Nihongo Partners from Japan made school visits in Brunei
Five Nihongo Partners from Japan made school visits in Brunei for language and cultural exchange with local students. The Programme is funded and orgnised by the Japan Foundation.
During their visit, Bruneian students enjoyed activities including wearing yukata (traditional Japanese clothing) playing origami (folding papers), and traditional games such as wanage ( tossing rings onto pegs), and sugoroku (a board game).They also learned basic Japanese words and culture.
The Nihongo Partners visited Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam, Maktab Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien, Sekolah Menengah Rimba II, Sekolah Menengah Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha, Maktab Anthony Abell, Seria, Sekolah Menengah Katok and Benkyou Education Centre, where they were warmly welcomed with Brunei's traditional cuisine, music, and dance performances.
Before returning to Japan, they paid a courtesy call on Mr KIKUTA Yutaka, Ambassador Designate at the Embassy of Japan, and shared their valuable experiences from the school visits, highlighting the enriching cultural exchange between Japan and Brunei.
