JAPANESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS

 FOR BRUNEIAN STUDENTS

The Japanese Government is once again offering scholarships to Bruneian students who are keen to study in Japan next year.  This is a fantastic opportunity for Bruneians to study in Japan , broadening their horizons by embracing Japanese culture and increasing their future job prospects.

Over the past 18 years many Bruneians have successfully participated in the scholarship programmes offered by the Japanese Government.  Not only have the students enhanced their academic qualifications, they have also learned about the people, culture and language of Japan and made life long friends.

There are four different types of scholarship available:

1.     An undergraduate course which consists of a one-year intensive Japanese language course and a four–year bachelor’s degree course.

2.     A postgraduate research student course which includes a six-month intensive Japanese language course and a one and a half year special course.

3.     A Japanese college of technology course which consists of a one-year intensive course in Japanese and a three-year course in a specialised subject. Students will receive basic and specialised knowledge and techniques.

4.     A Japanese special training college course which includes a one-year intensive course in Japanese and a two-year career and vocational training course.

Interested students are encouraged to seize this great opportunity to live and study in Japan .  Applicants must be Brunei nationals and should possess an excellent academic record.  Application forms must be submitted before June 25th 2008 .  It is also recommended that interested applicants who submit an application through the relevant authorities pre-register their names with the Embassy at least two weeks before the deadline for record keeping in order to avoid disappointment due to missing documentation or late submission. An Examination will be organized at the Embassy in early July. Further information regarding eligibility can be obtained from the Embassy of Japan.
